Thank you very much for sending that document! It really helps to have all the information down in black and white (and colors). I have printed it out and am keeping it in preparation for our move back to Germany.
Just wondered why, given the Noten - Pass, you have decided against sending your son to Gymnasium?
Although my older son was in Realschule -- and I was happy with the Realschule; I think a more "practical" hands-on learning is infinitely preferable to the endless memorization the G8 Kinder seem to have to do -- it seems like it's easier to get to Uni with an Abi. Or are you planning to be back in the States with your kids by then?
I am very grateful that you sent along the information. I am quite worried about them fitting into German school after three years away. It is a relief to know that they can't be kept back because of poor German for two years.

Philip didn't want to go to Gymnasium. Based on what his friends and their parents have told us, the slower pace and more relaxed atmosphere of Realschule sounded like a better match for Philip.
